Created a FuryBsd VM (FuryBSD-12.1-XFCE-2020042001.iso) from Windows 10 running Virtualbox 6.1. The VM booted into FreeBsd's standard command-line login prompt. Should the window manager kick in at this point?
Does anyone else have this experience on VirtualBox?

I was having the same issue, hopefully others will find this helpful as well, as I wasn't able to find this out anywhere.
You need to change the Graphics Controller in VirtualBox settings > Display > Screen to "VBoxSVGA". The default value when you create a FreeBSD VM is "VMSVGA", and this does not work.
